History

September 20, 1998

Two branches open in Krasnoyarsk.


Since 1999

O’KEY School organises its first immersion programmes for children. The aim of the programmes is to help students open out and speak confidently in real life situations, show that foreign language is not only a school subject, but also a means of communication.


2002

A group of O’KEY students travels to the city of Eastbourne on the south-eastern coast of England for the first time. The school celebrates its fifth birthday.


2003

O’KEY School becomes a member of the Association for the Teaching of English and European Languages (ATEEL), which proves that the school provides high quality education and educational process management, meeting European standards.


2004

Our office opens in the town of Lesosibirsk.


September, 2005

The school holds a grand celebration of its seventh birthday.


2006

The forth office opens in Krasnoyarsk.

Since 2006 the teachers of the school start attending the refresher training courses organised by ATEEL and conducted by experienced International House trainers in Moscow. 


2007

Two new offices open in Krasnoyarsk and in the town of Sosnovoborsk.

Students of O’KEY School take 1st and 3rd prizes in ATEEL contest in Russia for the knowledge of the English language, history and culture.

Since 2007 the teachers of the school start attending training courses on Kitaigorodskaya’s Intensive Method of Language Teaching in the Center for Intensive Foreign Language Instruction, Moscow.
O’KEY School becomes a local test centre for City&Guilds international exam. Forty-five candidates (including O’KEY teachers and students) pass the exam successfully and get international certificates.

O’KEY School becomes an official representative of Exchanges USA programme in Russia. Now it represents a number of exchange programmes, such as Work&Travel, Au Pair, and internship programmes in many countries. 

O’KEY School becomes a member of Association for Language Education and International Cooperation (Prague, Czech Republic) and starts representing preparatory course of Charles University (Prague). 
Four students from Krasnoyarsk and Lesosibirsk complete the Uniprep programme. Richard Smejkal, Director of Uniprep, visits Krasnoyarsk.


2008

The school gets the right to carry out one of the most prestigious international exams – IELTS. The first testing session takes place on June 28, 2008.

Discovering the New World: for the first time O’KEY students visit Los-Angeles and New York.


O’KEY School celebrates its 10th anniversary! More than 500 spectators gather to watch this great celebration. We thank our students, partners and friends for their trust and productive cooperation. 

The first Kitaigorodskaya’s Method course is successfully launched by our qualified teachers. We get off to a good start and our students achieve excellent results. 

New project is started by O’KEY School and ALEIC: a magazine called Zagranitsa bez Granits [Abroad - without Borders] is published. The magazine focuses on foreign countries and opportunities they can offer.



2009

The school takes part in the Education Abroad International Exhibition, organised by ALEIC.

The first Cambridge exam session takes place in Krasnoyarsk, giving students an opportunity to choose the exam according to their objectives and knowledge (City&Guilds, IELTS, or Cambridge ESOL).

O’KEY students of Lesosibirsk office take part in the regional English language contests and competitions.

The youngest students of Sosnovoborsk city take part in the city festival of infant schools.
